The Getting Started Page
From the Getting Started page, you quickly access the most frequently used features of the server.
The Getting Started page for standard users has three icons that link to the basic functions of the server:
• View Your Reports – Displays a list of the reports that you can view and run.
• Create a Report – Launches the Data Chooser wizard followed by the Ad Hoc Editor for designing reports interactively.
• Analyze Data – Displays a list of analysis views. Available only if you implement Jaspersoft OLAP.
The Home icon and the View and Create menus offer these options:

Returns to the Getting Started page.

Search Results – Displays the repository of resources filtered according to the last setting in the Filters panel. Same as clicking View Your Reports on the Getting Started page. |

Repository – Displays the repository files and folders containing resources, such as reports, report output, data sources, and images. Access to repository folders and objects is subject to permissions set by administrators. |

Reports – Displays the repository of reports. |

OLAP Views – Displays the repository of analysis views that you can view, run, and edit, depending on permissions. Same as Analyze Data on the Getting Started page. Available only with Jaspersoft OLAP. |

Messages – Displays system messages, such as an error in a scheduled report. |

Create
|

|
Ad Hoc Report – Launches the Ad Hoc Editor in which you can design reports interactively. Same as clicking Create a Report on the Getting Started page. |

Dashboard – Launches the Dashboard Designer in which you can lay out multiple reports and their supporting input controls, labels, and images. |

Domain – Launches the Domain Designer for setting up a Domain. |

If you log in as an administrator, the Home page has additional options and menu items for managing users, roles, organizations, and settings, such as repository folder names. Administrator functions are documented in the JasperReports Server Administrator Guide. The links to the Online Help, Log Out, and a search field appear on all JasperReports Server pages.
